Identification of breeding places

Team of doctors and Health Inspectors will identify the breeding places in the various wards Duration: 16 days High risk areas: Construction sites

Integrated Vector Control Measures

Environmental control Source reduction Environmental modification Drainage, filling, land levelling etc. Environmental manipulation Increasing the flow of streams, regulation of the water level in reservoirs etc

 Biological control: Antilarval Expanded Polystyrene beads in wells, tanks and reservoir or Gambusia affinis fish to be cultivated in the wells, tanks etc

 Chemical control Aerosol Space Spray Space spraying of pyrethrum extract (2%) in 50 houses in and around every malaria to kill the infective mosquitoes is recommended. Antilarval Temephos Bti (WP and 12 AS)

Health education campaigns

Health education programmes will be organised involving Self Help Groups, Youth Clubs and Mahila Mandals One to two in each ward e.g. Nukkad Natak

Early Diagnosis and Treatment

Health education: People will be made aware to report to the nearest health centre in case of fever with chills/rigors Guidelines of the NVBDCP should be followed; No monotherapy should be encouraged; monitoring required Smear testing in High risk areas for fever cases and early treatment
