West Cohort #3 (St. Roch, St. Francis Borgia, and St.

Felix) Parish Implementation Committee (IC) Meeting Minutes 3/9/2012

Attendees:

St. Roch George Spears, Kathy Wroblewski, Nancy Oaks St. Francis Lisa DiCamillo, Steve Gayari, Elmer Dietzel, Alfredo Santos (sub) St. Felix Rosemary Creuger

Advisors:

Fr. Robert Par, Fr. John Weis

Agenda: 1.) Opening Prayer 2.) Review of Bishop Cistones February letter. Reviewed the Ten Bullet Points. 3.) Discussed the roles and responsibilities of the new merged parish implementation committee. 4.) Begin to develop the implementation plan of our merged parish. 5.) Discuss the need to identify the plan for a new parish name. 5.1. The implementation committee broke off into 2 sub-groups. One discussed a common statement to all parishes for a new parish name. The statement will read: The implementation committee is asking all parishioners who would like to submit a new parish name to complete the following form. The form will ask you to state the new church name and why you think this name is appropriate. The name should be one that brings all three parish churches together into one. The name does not necessarily need to be a saints name, but can be names like Our Lady of Confessors, Blessed Holy Trinity, and Michael the Archangel. Internet searches are OK to review possible names. Deadline to submit is no later than April 7th, 2013, in the collection baskets. The implementation team will narrow the names down to three and submit the names to Bishop Cistone by no later than April 19, 2013. Bishop Cistone will decide on the final parish name. 5.2. The 2nd sub-group discussed communication to all parishioners. The following items relating to communication are as follows: a.) Communication will be only one voice for all parishioners. b.) Face to face communication with all parishioners. c.) Questions that can not be answered will be relayed onto Fr. Robert Par for an answer (concurred by Fr. John Weis).

d.) Minutes and agendas will be published along with the name questionnaire to all church bulletins beginning the weekend of 3/17/2013. e.) As needs arise, updates will be published in all bulletins. f.) A new parish meeting will be held with all parishioners in attendance; date is to be determined. 6.) Agenda and Date for next IC meeting: April 7th, 2013 at 6:00PM at St. Roch. 6.1. Mass times/Liturgy 6.2. Development of Faith Formation sub-committee 6.3. Ensure plan of parish merger checklist is being worked on. IC committee to verify status. 6.4. Review and submit three parish names to Bishop Cistone. 6.5. Develop a parish outreach sub-committee 6.6. Plan next meeting and agenda. 7.) Closing Prayer and Adjournment.
