Linda Washington MET 6223 Professor: R. Schneider Lesson Plan: Who am I? Grade: 7 Class time: 1 hr.

and 15 minutes, This assignment will be done during class time and we will send it in the computer lab. This project will last one week to get each student a chance to complete the assignment. Materials Needed: Access to the Computer lab and internet Learning objectives: Students will demonstrate an understanding of communication and working collaboratively in a group. Students will work with their peers and support individual learning. Students will contribute to the learning of others.

GLCE standards: Writing: R.MT.07.01 Self- monitor comprehension when reading or listening to text by automatically applying and discussing the strategies used by mature readers to increase comprehension including: predicting, constructing mental images, visually representing ideas in text, questioning, rereading or listening again if uncertain about meaning , inferring summarizing, and engaging in interpretive discussions. W.GN. 07.03 Formulate research questions using multiple resources, perspectives, and arguments/counter arguments to develop a thesis statement that culminates in a final presented project using writing process. Strand 5.2 Conducting Investigations:

5.2.2 Gather and analyze information using appropriate information technologies to answer the question posed. 5.2.3 Construct an answer to the question posed and supports their answer with evidence. 5.2.4 Report the results of their investigation including procedures followed and possible alternative conclusions Overview of Lesson Plan: The students will be shown 4 pictures of famous people from black history on the first day, Harriet Tubman, Madame C.J.Walker, Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Du Bois. The next day the groups will be formed and the name of the 4 famous people will be placed in a hat. The leader of the group will pick the person that the group will make their collage of and pass it around. The group will be given a chance to sit together and write their sentences. Wednesday the student will go to the computer lab to learn about how to use Dropbox.com. This where each student will put their sentence so that everyone in the group can see what their peers have written. This link will take you to the website http://www.Dropbox.com. Where each group will put their sentence. Each person must create an account and then login to put their sentence and you click share so that every group can see the sentences and try to guess who your person is. As your peers are guessing, each member group may begin to search the internet for pictures and start the collage. Here is a link that will show an example a collage of one of www.picmonkey.com When you click on this link, it will take you to the PicMonkey page where you can make a free collage of the person your group has chosen. Access and Evaluate: Evaluation will be based on the creativity of the students collages and the sentence structure.
