Letstudentsknowthatyouwillbestoppingaftereachparagraphtoaskthemtoidentifymainpoints andclassifyintothe5socialstudiescategories(geography,economy,government,culture,history), referringtothecorrespondingposter. Havestudentswritethesecategoriesasheadingsintheirnotesandwritedownwhatweidentifyfor each.(Modeltakingnotesforthefirstfewastheyfollowalong,thenletthemreadandtakenoteson theirown.) Afterreading,reviewkeyconcepts,vocabulary.Discussmeaningofvocabularyandpostdefinitionon board. Closure:AskstudentvolunteerstoshareatleastonethingtheylearnedaboutSpainduringthelesson.
