This story takes place in Vermont. An elderly man puts
his land up for sale so it can be developed. The local Native American Indian tribe, the Abenaki insists the land is a sacred burial ground and a protest develops. When odd, supernatural events take place in the town of Comtosook the land owner decides to hire a ghost buster. Ross Wakeman comes to town. He is a man haunted by the demise of his fiancée who died in a car crash eight years previously. He dabbles with the supernatural for the sole purpose of possibly connecting to her from the beyond. Ross Wakeman meets Lia Beaumont a person like himself who is searching for something beyond the boundary of life and death. Together they form a search friendship and ultimately solve a crime of passion that took place a many years previously and discover that the plot of land is not what it was thought to be.
