A child begin language acquisition on its own

- parent don't need to persuade the child to speak. - such help can be given such as 'baby talk' or being read to a consistent basis. but these things will only have a small effect. It they are not done, the child will still learn to speak without them.

It does not matter is a child is corrected, they will still grasp the language in the same manner &speak the same way. - for example, a child will make things plural that are already plural even if he is corrected. he will say 'feets' instead of 'feet'. it does not matter how many times a child is corrected, he will still say 'feets'

Optimal learning age - between the ages of 3-10 , a child is most likely to learn language as a whole and grasp fluency. - after the age of 10, it's hard &impossible for the child to completely grasp the language.

Chomskys Nativist Theory

(4 factors that support his theory of Language Acquisition)

Children go through stages of language acquisition in which they learn certain parts of the language. -all children go through these stages at the same time, at the same age.
