Responsibilities and accomplishments within teaching career have included grade level team leader, school-level organizer for the Young Georgia Authors Contest, member of system-wide Technology Advisory Committee, served on system-wide summative assessment creation teams, participated in and led school/system-level professional learning communities, organized site visits to other districts to observe writing instruction, school level Teacher of the Year nominee (three years), supervision of practicum teachers, served as a mentor teacher for new hires, assisted with the opening of a new school within the district, awarded grant for purchasing classroom sets of novels, school webmaster, participation in school-level SACS preparation process

Responsibilities and accomplishments within the graduate-level experience have included membership on the Red Clay Writing Project leadership team (2007-present); participation in two research studies (Developing Practices of New Teachers in Elementary Mathematics Instruction under the supervision of Dr. Denise Spangler, UGA, 2002-2004; Male Teachers Experiences in Elementary Classrooms under the supervision of PhD candidate Chris Hansen, UGA, 2012-2013); selected by department to participate on graduate student panel for PSC/NCATE accreditation visit (March 2013); participated as a panel member for pre-service teachers about first year teaching (2003)
