POSTED: June 03, 2013 JOB TITLE: Technical Supervisor REPORTS TO: Production Manager START DATE: August 2013 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee all change overs in concert with Production Manager and Technical Director Coordinate interdepartmental needs for load-in and load-out Develop Rigging plan in collaboration with Technical Director Maintain working knowledge and understanding of the physical production for all shows in the Albert and Owen Theatres Must be present at all load-ins, technical rehearsals, previews, and load-outs Supervise run crews, which will include routine check-ins throughout performance run Hire additional run crew and crew covers on a per show basis, in consulation with production management Conduct weekly safety and automation check in concert with House Carpenter Assist Production Management with special events Attend weekly production meetings and other meetings as needed Maintain theatre inventories (soft goods, rigging, automation) in concert with Production Management and Technical Director Ensure that policies and practices of Goodman Theatres Health and Safety Manual are being followed and enforced Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 5 years professional technical theatre experience Extensive knowledge and experience in technical theatre, including but not limited to scenery construction, stage automation, theatre rigging (ETCP certification beneficial), video / projections, electrics and sound Must be proficient with AutoCAD Ability to supervise and work with a diverse staff, experience with IATSE crews beneficial Strong verbal and written communication skills Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work on varied projects Willing to work as a team member and maintain a positive attitude Varied Schedule with night and weekend work required This position is full-time salaried with benefits package.
