Is Child Euthanasia becoming a legal reality?

Things to consider:
Belgium is voting on extending their current euthanasia law to children under 18 years of age Their rationale for doing this is, doctors are already doing it illegally Canada has a law saying all persons must be treated equal regardless of age The feeling is Canada will extend its current euthanasia law to children based on equality laws, if murder is good for the old it is good enough for the young Liberals and socialists appear to agree on the fact that age should not be regarded as a decisive criteria in the event of a request for euthanasia The decision to kill children will be left to the discretion of the doctor in Belgium This is no less than the slippery slope of dehumanizing the weakest among us; the sick, the infirmed, the elderly, and our young; all of which are unable to protect themselves It has become a convenience option to cut health care cost and to save families from financial burdens

Once euthanasia becomes an option, it will soon turn into the preferable option and finally it will turn into the choice of the few and the obligation for the many. (Alex Schadenberg)
