Anchor Pullout Strength is the force required to uproot a anchor out of the concrete.
Calculation According to ACI codes, the pull out strength of the group of anchors is given by
Where, = Strength reduction factor for pull out strength and its value for non-reinforcement in tension is 0.70 c,P = Modification factor for pullout strength based on the presence of concrete cracks, for the concrete with cracks at service load level c,P=1. n = Number of anchor bolts, in our case n=2.
Abrg = Net bearing area of the head of anchor bolt in square inch, in our case Abrg=0.49 Square inch. fc = The concretes specified compressive strength in psi, in our case fc= 20 MPa= 2900.754 psi.
So, by putting all the values in D-14, we get the pullout strength of the anchor group as Npn = 0.7*8*2*1*0.49*2900.754 lb = 15919.34 lb = 795.97 KN
I think this equation only use parameter of Abrg (Net bearing area of the head of anchor bolt), not use parameter friction between bolt and concrete.
in the table above, we can also calculate the value of Na. with Anchor size M20 and concrete 20 MPa, Na for 2 bolt is 65.5*2= 131 KN
I dont know why with aci code and table spatec produce different result. Do you have idea?
