ITI, Berhampur is doing excellent work in providing employment opportunity to local students. For the first time in the state Quality council of India team has visited the Ganjam district and recommended to increase 360 seats in ITI, Berhampur and 260 in ITI, Chatrapur. This is achieved by sincere and dedicated effort by Dr. C.S.Kumar, IAS, Commissioner-Cum- Secretary, E&TE&T, department, Shri Hemanta Sharma, IAS, Commissioner- Cum- DTE&T, Odisha, Cuttack and Dr. Rajat Kumar Panigrahy, Principal, ITI, Berhampur. This will help a large number of merit students of Ganjam District to get an opportunity to read in the Govt. ITI. Under skill development programme of the Govt. ITI, Berhampur has trained more than 700 hundred youths of the district which is highest I the state. All these skilled certified persons have been trained under MES (Modular Employability Skill) this type of skill development will help to eradicate poverty and creating employment opportunity among the youths of the Ganjam District. Under L&T sponsored skill development programme in Masson and bar binding trades a group of 50 trainees from the Hinjili and Gopalpur constituency have been trained and L&T has given them appointment letters which are distributed by me. In the year 2010 ITI, Berhampur was declared best ITI, in the country by DGE&T, Govt. of India, New Delhi as one of its students stood first in the all India level skill competion. By this a large number of Industry like TATA Motor, Panthnagar, Uttarakhand, Honda Motors, New Delhi, Maruti Suzuki, Suzulon Energy Ltd., Pondichery, Jindal steel, Jajpur, are being attracted and coming to Ganjam District and conducting Campus selection by this students from Govt. and Pvt. ITCs are being appointed. Last year more than 1000 students have got employment through ITI, Berhampur. The efforts taken by the Principal Dr. Panigrahy to bring the Govt. ITI, Berhampur to the national limelight is appreciable and Govt. may appreciate the efforts taken by Dr. Panigrahy. Thanking you Sir.
