Reebops
In sexual reproduction offspring (kids) get half of their genetic information from their
mom and half from their dad. A scientist has discovered a new life form that she has
decided to call reebops. She determines that the reebops have males and females and
collects one of each. It is your job to predict and create one of the reebop offspring. You
will be using a penny to determine whether the offspring will inherit the Dominant trait
(heads), or the recessive trait (tails), for each trait. Write down the alleles that mom and
dad have for each trait in the first two columns. Next flip a coin to determine which of
those alleles baby inherits. Your first coin flip is mom, your second coin flip is dad.
When you have determined what traits will be inherited by the reebop offspring, you will
build one using the appropriate materials.
