Circle, Durham, NC 27712 - 919-443-2303 Email: nchonorschorus@gmail.com Guest Conductor: Dr. Brad Holmes Millikin University, Decatur, Illinois Online Registration Deadline Sept. 10 Purpose: a) To honor outstanding singers from high school choral music programs in our state by giving them the opportunity to perform at the highest level of achievement. b) To provide an outstanding educational experience for both the students and teachers of choral programs across the state. Eligibility: a) The Choral Director of each student participating in High School Choral Section activities must be a current member, in good standing, of the North Carolina Music Educators Association. b) The choral member must be enrolled in a scheduled choral class receiving one unit of credit in the current school year. AUDITION PIECE: Students will prepare Misericordias Domini W.A. Mozart Hal Leonard 35014327 1. AUDITION REHEARSAL TRACKS are available at www.ncmeachoral.org. You may download any combination from this website. The accompaniment track will be used for all auditions. 2. AUDITION FEE: $20.00 per student. Payment must be by school or booster checks or money orders and must be postmarked by September 10th. Personal checks will be returned. 3. REGISTRATION IS ONLINE at www.ncmeachoral.org. SEPTEMBER 10 is the DEADLINE for online registration and the postmark date for fees. You will not be able to login to the th registration site after midnight on Sept. 10 . Please, be sure to make changes and make 3 copies of the invoice before this time. 4. The NUMBER OF STUDENTS from a school may not exceed 10% of that schools choral enrollment. Changes are permissible within a specific voice part but must be made by the coordinator after Sept.10. There can be NO changes out of specific voice-part at the audition sites. 5. AUDITION TIME PREFERENCES: will be honored on a first come/first serve basis. School registration-numbers are assigned as fees arrive. 7. DIRECTORS SHARING TRANSPORTATION : should include this information online in the Special Considerations box. Directors should send their fees TOGETHER or on the same day in order to have similar audition times. 8. AUDITION RESULTS a. One copy of the audition sheet will be mailed to the director,and a second copy will be retained by the coordinator. b. A list of all students who are selected will be sent by email. c. Directors of students who must cancel ARE REQUIRED to inform the coordinator immediately. This gives the next singer a chance to prepare the music. 8. NC HIGH SCHOOL HONORS CHORUS rehearsals will be Saturday, Nov.9 and Sunday, Nov. 10. The performance will be on Sunday, Nov. 10 at the Stevens Center in Winston-Salem, NC at 3 PM.

9. DIRECTORS AND/OR CHAPERONES are required to be present or close by during rehearsals. 10. DIRECTORS must be current members of NAfME. Membership cards must be shown at the audition-site AND event. Parents or other directors who may be transporting students to auditions must bring a copy of the valid NAfME ID card with them.
