TheBrotherHL5370DWisanetworkprinterthatcanbeconnectedtoanetworkwithanEthernetcable orwirelessly.OncetheprinterhasbeenunpackedandsetuppertheHL5370DWQuickSetupGuide, thisguidelinecanbeusedto: 1. configurethenetworkrouter[wiredorwireless]withafixedIPaddressfortheprinter 2. configuretheprintertoaccessthenetworkwirelessly 3. installtheprinterdriver 4. setthedefaultprintingpreferencetoDuplex Itisrecommendedthattheprinternormallybeconnectedtoawiredrouter[NetgearRP614]ora wirelessrouter[NetgearWGR614]withanEthernetcable.Iftheprinterhasbeenconfiguredto connectwirelesslytothenetwork,theprintercanbechangedbetweencableandwirelessbyturning theprinteroff,connectingordisconnectingthenetworkcable,andturningtheprinterbackon. TherecommendedIPaddressfortheprinteris192.168.1.53.TheprinterhastwoMACaddresses[one fortheEthernetcableandanotherforwireless].AwirelessroutercanreservethisIPaddressforeither MACaddressbutnotboth. Note:TheseguidelinesareforWindowsXPandVistaoperatingsystems.Iftheprinterdriveristobe installedonaWindows7computer,usetheWindows7CDinsteadofthe5300seriesCD.
Wired Networks
WirednetworksarerequiredwhenusingTaxWiseOnlineandmaybeusedforTaxWiseDesktop.
1. ConnecttheprintertotheRP614routerwithanetworkcableandturntheprinteron. 2. UsingDetailed Wired Router Setup,laterinthisguideline,assignIPaddress192.168.1.53to thisprinter. 3. (Printers may not show up in the table on this screen with a Device Name. If there is any doubt about which entry in the table corresponds to the printer, you can get the currently assigned IP Address and MAC Address for the printer by asking the printer to printaSelfTest/Configurationpage.)
