Adventist chaplains are ministers with current conference-issued credentials who are granted ecclesiastical endorsement to serve in one

of the specialized ministries. The chaplaincy is an equally valid and viable expression of ministry on par with more traditional expressions of pastor and evangelist. They are an integral element of the Adventist ministry. All chaplains are pastors, though not all pastors are called to be chaplains. Just as medical doctors require graduate school and licensing before they can practice medicine, pastors require professional training and credentialing. To become a specialist in any medical field requires advanced professional training, residency and certification. To become a chaplain, pastors must have advanced training, pastoral experience verified by current credentials and ecclesiastical endorsement. Ecclesiastical endorsement is the Church's affirmation that a person is seeking or serving in chaplaincy and has presented evidence of their calling and training for that ministry. It signifies the applicant (1) is an experienced minister in regular standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church; (2) has completed appropriate training for the specialized ministry; (3) is placed or is seeking placement in an approved chaplaincy ministry setting; and (4) will maintain an accountable relationship with the Church. Chaplain Robin Patricia Walker earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Washington Adventist University (formerly Columbia Union College), and a Masters of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary. Her post graduate work in Clinical Pastoral Education, (CEP) for hospital chaplaincy was successfully completed by fulfilling an Internship prerequisite at the Washington Hospital Center, and concluding the requirement with the Residency at Georgetown University Hospital. March 10, 2009 the Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries Committee granted her ecclesiastical endorsement.

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Luke 1:46-55 46 And Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48 for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed; 49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. 50 And his mercy is on those who fear him from generation to generation. 51 He has shown strength with his arm, he has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts, 52 he has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted those of low degree; 53 he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent empty away. 54 He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, 55 as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his posterity forever." II. Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

The Lord be with us as we run to yet another emergency. If it be a patient dying let us be your consolation to the family. If it be a trauma coming to the emergency department let us be your hands, your voice, your presence for the victims, for their loving friends and family, for the staff. If it be a code then let us be your voice when it is time to stop. Watch over and protect all the patients in the hospital today, especially those you will call home. This prayer rises up from the depths of each chaplains soul. Amen.

There are no words coined in the English language that accurately expresses the depth of my gratitude. I am so overwhelmed. I cannot begin remembering all of you without forgetting someone dear. What I can sincerely say, is thank you! Thank you for caring, journeying, listening, and being present. To those who participated in any fashion this evening, and to you who have walked this journey along side of me; may our Lord wrap you in a warm blanket of his love, blessing you continuously

For all that has been thank you. For all that is to come yes. Dag Hammarskjald
