I owe a great many thanks to a great many people who helped and supported me during the writing of this project. My deepest thanks to Lecturer, M/S. Shweta Handa, the Guide of the project for guiding and correcting various documents of mine with attention and care. Many of the ideas in the project is the result of research on the various aspects of Gorakhpur. I am grateful enough that Gorakhpur Railway library provided me great help in the collection of datas on the various aspects of the city.
