School and classroom rules: - Know and follow all school rules. - Come to class prepared and in possession of appropriate materials. Your notebook should be open on your desk for the entire class, as you will be taking notes on a constant basis. You will not be allowed to use the restroom 10 minutes after class starts or 10 minutes before it ends. -

Food and drink (except bottled water) are not allowed in class. Cell phones and other electronics must be turned completely OFF. Set to silent or vibrate is NOT OFF. Phones that disrupt class will be confiscated and turned into the office.

- Purses, book bags, jackets, and other items that can cause distractions are to be kept on the floor under your desk. I should not have to remind you of this on a daily basis. - Talk and leave your seat only at appropriate times during the class period (which means don't talk or walk around the room while I'm teaching, wait until the end of class to throw things away, etc. - Sit up, and fully participate in class. Grades: - 25% will come from quizzes - 50% will come from essays and projects.
- 25 % will come from homework / class work/group work/ presentations, etc.

Academic policies: - Late homework will not be accepted. Late papers/projects will lose a grade a day (if you're absent, email your paper to me BEFORE your class period begins, and then bring your hard copy to class the next day). That way, it is clear that you did not attempt to take an extra day to finish your assignment. You need to make sure that no matter what, you communicate with me!! - Missed tests and quizzes must be made up within three days of the absence. - Cheating in any form is strictly forbidden and students will be dealt with according to school rules.
