United Nations General Assembly in December 2010 declared 2013 as United Nations International Year of Water Cooperation (Resolution A/RES/65/154). The objective of this International year is to raise awareness, both on the potential for increased cooperation, and on the challenges facing water management in light of increase in the demand for water access, allocation and services. Global warming is rise in the average temperature of Earth's atmosphere and oceans since late 19th century and its projected continuation. Since the early 20th century, earths mean surface temperature has increased by about 0.8 C (1.4 F), with about two-thirds of the increase occurring since 1980. Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and scientists are more than 90% certain that it is primarily caused by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases produced by human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. To support above cause PICHE U.E.T Peshawar Student Chapter arranged an event tilted as WCY13 sponsored by PASTIC and Premium Education consultants. Vice chancellor UET was invited as a chief guest. Schools, colleges and universities were invited by displaying five hundred posters in different institutions all over Peshawar. About two hundred and six student participated which was an excellent response and achievement.

WCY13 was composed of three main events Poster exhibition on water stress and global warming Quiz competition Final year project exhibition

POSTER EXHIBITION: Students from different institutions participated and presented their ideas to prevent global warming and water stress in form of sketches. Ninety four students participated in this category. Frontier Model School stood First in poster exhibition.

QUIZ COMPETITION: Seventy eight students participated in quiz competition. The quiz was conducted electronically on multimedia, so that the audience can also get sufficient information about the related topic of the event. Department of Psychology stood First in quiz competition.

FINAL YEAR PROJECT EXHIBITION: All participants displayed their projects. Thirty four students participated in this category. Benazir Bhutto University stood First in project exhibition

PRIZES: Shields and certificates were awarded to winners and participants of the respective categories. The Successful event ended with refreshments for all participants and guests.
