According to Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath CPD received a call that the Dodge Magnum they were looking for in connection with the alleged kidnapping of Kenya Pierce was located in the 4200 block of Mapledale Avenue. Officers approached with their cars and heard a single gunshot, which was later determined to be suspect Derrick Hudson killing himself.
Hudson, 35 kidnapped Kenya Pierce at gunpoint from her Chesterfield Avenue apartment Saturday. According to Cuyahoga County Commons Pleas Court records Hudson was accused of abducting Price before in 2002.
Hudson, was indicted on kidnapping and aggravated assault charges in May 2002, accused of forcing Pierce from an apartment on East 79th
Pierce was taken to MetroHealth to be treated for a broken arm.
