Additional Information Notable information about student athletes coached by Hilda Hankerson: Produced five McDonalds All American Nominees. Nine Georgia All-Stars, four All-Star MVPs 2012, 2011, 2009, and 2001. Seven Georgia All-State girls student athletes. Four Region Players of the Year. Several student athletes have been ranked in ESPN Hoop Gurlz. Numerous athletes have been honored at the Atlanta Tip-Off Club since 1999. Three former student athletes played professional basketball. Camp Information Update: Served as Womens Basketball Camp Director at Mississippi State University. Founder and Director of Coach Hilda Hankersons Fundamental Basketball Camp (held at Westlake High since 1999). Campers included boys and girls. Teams have traveled as far as Delaware to participate in leadership and skill training. Hosted and collaborated with Ganon Baker (Owner/Operator of NBA Skill Development, aka Nike Skill development Trainer/Director) to run mini-camps for the boys and girls in the community. Hosted two Ganon Baker Regional Camps at Westlake High for the top 80 high school basketball student athletes in the country. Hosted several national basketball student athlete exposure events for Kevin Powell. Attended by an average of 130 NCAA Division I coaches.

Co-Speaker with Coach Lynn Dunn (WNBA Indiana Fever) at the Georgia Tech Coaches Clinic. Coach Lynn was the head coach at Ole Miss when I was the assistant at Mississippi State University. Guest speaker at the Georgia Tech Athletic Coaches Association Clinic. Playing Experience: Four-year starter at Mercer University, Macon GA. Point guard teammate of Hall-of-Famer Cindy Broughton (1st girls basketball Olympian in the state of Georgia, 1st female in state to receive a full basketball athletic scholarship). Started as a freshman with Hall-of-Famer Sybil Blaylock (Assistant Athletic Director at Mercer University). Sybil currently serves on the NCAA Womens basketball Committee. Mercer University was the State Champion twice and the Region runner-up twice. Post season play at the National Womens Invitation Tournament in Amarillo, TX --- freshman year. Athletic Director at Westlake High School Additional Accomplishments: Westlake has a strong athletic heritage. Two Track and Field state championships (boys and girls). Two Boys Basketball state championships. Boys Tennis Team state runner-up. Numerous Region championships in various sports. With only two exceptions, the girls basketball teams have been in every state tournament since 1995. This includes classifications in 3A, 4A, and 5A. 12 of 17 sports teams made the state play-offs in 2010. Student athletes were among the top 25 academic performers at Westlake High.
