3 4 Year Old Post Lesson Plan

Activity: Give children play dough or clay and ask them to design and create something that they think of as a natural object. Allow them time to design and create this. Once they have created their object, move it to the side. This time instead of asking the child to make a natural object ask them to design and create a non-natural object Once the 2 objects have been made, compare them. Ask the child questions such as: Why is it different? What are 2 different features from both?

This post lesson plan is designed to give children a further insight into natural and man-made objects, giving them different materials to work with also heightens the learning experience and gives children more options to become involved with this topic.

NOTE: Educators should not tell the student what to create, instead say; Make something you saw outside

rest of the activity. Educators need to ask questions that aim to compare the features of the items, NOT questions that compare the quality of the two items. Clay or play dough can be used, if you would like your child to keep their creation I would suggest using clay.
