Pedram Peddy PPI Rahmanian Intercultural Communications Tuesday, March 1, 2011 Oppression & Women!

The human race started out in his loftiest form, we evolved, and opened the way for the evil inclination; and the evil inclination gave birth to oppression! People have oppressed other people for money, power, and then respect. This trend conditioned the human species to oppress ourselves from within... Women, just inclined as men, have fallen victim to the spiritual malady of oppression. The Oppression essay, by Marilyn Frye... She states that "one of the most characteristic and ubiquitous features of the world as experienced by oppressed people is the double bind--situations in which options are reduced to a very few and all of them expose one to penalty, censure, or deprivation." This way of thought has lead people as a whole, but particularly women to other obstacles. Another main challenge for women in the United States has been seeded within them as younger women concerning their gender and sexuality. Females of all ages may be oppressed through, as Frye continues... "Economic necessity; confinement to racial and/or sexual job ghettos; sexual harassment; sex discrimination; pressures of competing expectations and judgments about women, wives, and mothers (in the society at large, in racial and ethnic subcultures, and in one's own mind)..." Even though all

this evidence has been provided, there are still many other underlying factors that further oppress the female gender! The challenge of oppression, like many other great challenges of the past, may be overcome for everyone, also in particular, for our wonderful females of all ages. The proposition of alleviating, and finally ceasing oppression has to start by every single one of us; first in our minds and then in all matter! That is exactly how we can transform the whole world.
