September 5, 2013 Baptist Health Physicians Dear Partners, Thank you for all that you bring to the

care of our mutual patients and to Baptist Health. You are the leaders of our care teams and the drivers of quality in our system. We are blessed to have nearly 460 employed physicians moving us forward as we strive to fulll our mission to improve the health of our communities. Many of you are already working with us on the implementation of Allscripts Enterprise EHR with the remainder of our physician partners to follow in short order. While, as with any EHR implementation, there have been challenges and stumbles, we are progressing at an impressive rate and could not do it without your patience, cooperation, and constructive feedback. I am excited to tell you that, based on the experience of your physician champions and implementation team leaders at ACE 2013, the Allscripts usergroup meeting in Chicago in August, we feel that we have an EHR partner who is committed to helping us succeed for our patients. Allscripts has had a new CEO, Paul Black, for six months and the change in their corporate culture is nothing short of phenomenal. Allscripts is committed to an open architecture, providing opportunities for innovation, the development of apps, and accelerated implementation of process changes based on physician and other end-user feedback. We witnessed a major improvement to their Wand app for iPads in the three days we were there. Based on feedback they received during the Wednesday afternoon presentation of Wand, they revised the program and rolled out the improvement in time for the Friday morning repeat presentation. The 11.4.1 upgrade that will be implemented in late January was presented at the meeting and there are signicant improvements in some of the screen layouts, access to patient education resources, workows, and functionalities. While no single upgrade is going to get us all the way to where we want to be, I think you and your staff will nd your Allscripts Enterprise user experience to be signicantly improved after the upgrade.

We are reinvigorated to continue our call to assist you in developing your facility with the Allscripts product and holding ourselves and Allscripts accountable to be responsive and innovative on behalf of you, our partners, and our patients. You have tremendous physician champions in Drs. Kathy Nieder, Steven Reiss, Mike McKinney, Brett Oliver, and Paul Pedersen. They, along with me, are your advocates and translators. Our Information Services staff both corporate and the familiar faces in your markets, led by Tricia Julian, are equally committed to your success and the excellent care of your patients. We will continue to face challenges but with the foundational improvements we have seen in our EHR partner, Allscripts, we have tremendous condence that we will successfully move toward efficient, high quality, evidence supported patient care.
