Course Description: Communication Applications is NOT just a public speaking (speech) course! It is a one semester course designed to teach students effective communication skills that enable them to communicate more successfully with family, friends, girlfriends/boyfriends, and small groups! By the end of this semester you will leave with an understanding of the communication process and, the verbal, nonverbal, and listening skills that are involved in making appropriate personal and professional communication choices. We are going to have a great time learning this semester and I am super excited to have YOU, yes YOU in my class!

I have to bring something? Materials: -Spiral (this is due a week from the day I hand this out, it is a daily grade that is 30% of your average) *very important* -Folder -1 pack of white note cards (optional) -Pens

Absent work:

Students are expected to make up assignments when absent. I do not keep record of who missed what class. If you are absent, it is YOUR job to come to me for what you missed. Arrangements to make up said assignments should be made as soon as the student returns to school. If student misses a speech, this MUST be made up in front of an audience and therefore must be scheduled with the teacher in advance.

Just Do It! Routines: We will have several routines each day and some that span longer periods. Be responsible by following these routines without being told to do so daily. I know you dont need (or want) me to hold your hand through small tasks so just do it!

Can I copy that? Sit next to me! Academic Dishonesty and Plagiarism: UNACCEPTABLE. Students who are not honest with their work and or found using the work, ideas or language of another writer (internet) or student will receive a low grade. Possible ZERO.
