Wonder Women While doing this research paper I learned about Wonder Women and how she is the most popular super hero. I also learned how she was the female superhero that was introduced in 1941 and how she was the most successful superhero ever. I also learned how she was a superhero that helped people tell the truth. Superhero History Superhero comics are generally a form of American comic books. Its stories centers on the life and adventures of a superhero or a super heroine. A superhero comic book narrates of their origins, super powers, strengths, and abilities as well as the super villains they have to battle with in order to save the world. (www.2-clicks-comics.com) Wonder Women is the most widely recognized and the most popular super-heroine in the comic world. Wonder Women is actually princess Diana, a member of an all-female tribe of Amazons. Wonder Womans history has undergone some changes over the years, though a few elements remain consistent in all of her depictions and her appearance in the early golden age of comics made her the first prominent female super heroine. (www.comicvine.com) Super heroes are often said to dictate the beginning and end of a comic era. Many super hero characters lost their popularity. Superhero comic rose to prominence in the late 1930s and the 1940s. It dominated the comics scene in North America during the 1960s. Superhero characters became stars during World War II, influencing the movies, TV shows, and many other forms of media and entertainment.

A superheroes main mission is to protect the world, to fight evil, and save those in danger. Super heroes are ruled with a sense of responsibility and strength. Super heroes comics do contribute greatly to each comics age as known characters emerge in every particular era. Wonder Women along with Batman and Superman, is among the three characters to have been continuously published by the DC comics, since the companys origination in 1944. (www.comicvine.com) She was well known and debuted in her own self-titled series. Wonder Womens lasso forced people that were lying to tell the truth. She changed somewhat to a more stereotypical woman. She has tons of super powers and too many to name but she is a great super hero.

History of Comic Books A comic book is a series of words and pictures that are presented in a sequential manner to form a narrative that may or may not be numerous. Before there was superhero comic books there were funny books. People called them funny books because inside were reprints of comic strips from newspapers. In 1842 the first comic book was made and became a popular mainstay of newspapers nationwide comics. (www.superherocomicshop.com) Originating in the United States in the late 1800s, the comic book contains everyday language, slang, and idiom, as well as color and a sophisticated interplay between text and imageall serving a therapeutic, explanatory, and commercial purpose in American culture. The superhero genre in the early 1940s was completely dominated by male superheroes, such as Superman and Batman. At the very least, comic books can be seen as a result of pressures by artists and consumers as well as by the historical forces acting on both groups. Since comic books were made and became popular people still read them till this day. People how read comic books most likely collect them instead of reading them. When the first comic book was made it was in black and white then they were made in color. (www.randomhistory.com) Biography of Artist Cliff Chiangs artwork has been hailed for its fluid and confident storytelling and sweeping line work and nuanced style. Wonder Women art has put a modern spin on designs Apollo, War, Hermes, Dionysus, and other Olympian icons of Greek lore. (www.cliffchiang.com) Cliff began his comic career as an editor for vertigo before transitioning to freelance illustrator with stints. He is an American comic book artist and formally an assistant editor at DC comics. He is now an illustrator also best known for his work on Human Target, Beware of the Creeper and Crisis after Math: The Specter. (www.wizardworld.com) He worked with DC comic but he also worked with six other companies which include: GQ Magazine, Lucas film, Warner Animation, Dark Horse Comics, Dynamic Forces Entertainment, and the ACLU. He is also a graduate from Harvard University with a joint degree in English Literature

and Visual Arts. He is a good artist and does a really good job on his comic artwork and recently finished up three issues. Cliff Chiang and writer Brian Azzarellos work is a part of DCs attempt to prelaunch its entire line of comics, branding them The New 52 and starting each character with a clean slate. Cliff and Brian are the ones who wrote and illustrated most of Wonder Womens comic books. Cliffs artwork is what makes Wonder Women who she is and how she is in her comic books. Review/ Summary In the comic book Wonder Women Flesh & Stone I thought it was a really good comic book for something I never read before. While I was reading the comic I thought it was good to read for just a project but I most likely wont read one again unless I need or have to. While reading I learned a few things about comic books and things about Wonder Women and the things that she does. Wonder Women is now one of my favorite superheroes. She is one of the first females to be introduced before any other girl superhero. I also learned what a superheroes main mission is and how they protect the world from bad guys. The comic book I read was good because while reading it they talked about what Wonder Womens job is and what she does to save people that are in danger and how she tried to save people that are in danger but most of the time she cant save them . Comic books are good to read if you dont want to read tons of words but then again I dont like to read but I still did anyways. This comic book was a good comic to read and I would read it again if I had to. Wonder Women is the best super hero of all time and I recommend reading her comic books that she has.

Wonder Women has different types of comic books and Im pretty sure they are all good comics to read so maybe one day I will read them all but if I have time then I will. While reading this comic got me thinking about our society that we have today and how people try to save people in danger but are either too late to save them or just choose not to . So I hope one day you will decide to read this comic book.
