User guide for the A.S.K.

forum
Introduction
The A.S.K. prayer list for the Thudium discussion group is located on an Internet webpage that is presented as an Internet forum or message board, where A.S.K members can post prayer requests and hold conversations about any prayer request.

Privacy

This forum is restricted to members of our A.S.K. group. The forum prevents any user from viewing or modifying this forum unless that user is first approved (authorized) by the administrator.

The forum is accessed by entering the following address in the browser. http://www.sthudium.weebly.com

Browser

This forum is compatible with many different browsers. In this user guide, the examples are rendered using the Safari browser.

3rd party applications

The webpage was created using Weebly, an American web-hosting service. The forum is embedded in a Weebly webpage, and is provided by Nabble, an embeddable free forum application.

Changing your picture (avatar), user name, or other personal information 14

Sign in
1. Enter the above URL address into your browser. After the below webpage is displayed, select the ASK tab.

2. Sign in using one of the following two steps, depending on whether (a) you are signing in for the first time (Step 3) or (b) you are signing in after your initial sign in (Step 4).

3. Initial sign in You must first register with the forum, before you can login. So ignore the Login section of the below webpage, and, instead, click the Register now link.

3.1. Initial sign in (Cont.) Complete the Register form. Your user name can be anything you like. Be sure to click the I have read and agree to Nabbles Terms of Use box. Also insert the text that you see in the Captcha (brown arrow). (A Captcha is used to insure you are a human and not another computer.) Remember your password.

3.2. Initial sign in (Cont.) Click the Register Now link, which will bring up the below webpage. Notice that you must check your email for the mentioned email to complete the registration process.

3.3. Initial sign in (Cont.) You should receive an email from Nabble that is similar to the one shown below. Click the confirmation link.

3.4. Initial sign in (Cont.) Return to your browser, where you should see the below webpage. In this example, the user name is user steve. Instead of user steve, your user name will be displayed. Click the Continue link.

3.5. Initial sign in (Cont.) You will now be presented with a webpage that you can use to request that the forum administrator authorize you for access to the forum. Until the administrator authorizes you, you will not be able to login to the forum. Enter a short note to the administrator and then click the Send Request button.

3.6. Initial sign in (Cont.) Click your user name link. This will bring up a sub-menu. Click the Log out menu option.

3.7. Initial sign in (Cont.) Wait for the administrator to send you an email confirming that you are now authorized to log into the forum. You cannot login to the forum before you are authorized.

4. Normal sign in Enter your email address (e.g. comments@whitehouse.gov) and your password in the Login form. Click the Log In button.

The steps in this section are optional, and are intended for advanced users. 1. Click your user name link. (In this example, the user name is user steve.) This will bring up a sub-menu. Click the Account settings menu option.

Entering a prayer request


1. If not logged in, then login, per the Sign in section, above, starting on page 3. Navigate to the below webpage. This may require clicking the A.S.K for Thudium discussion group link. Then click the New Topic link.

2. Entering a prayer (Cont.) Enter a brief title for your prayer request in the Subject field. Enter details for your prayer request in the Message field. When complete, click the Post Message link.

3. Entering a prayer (Cont.) You will now see your prayer request in the below webpage. In this example, the new prayer is titled, Prayer 2 example only. Return to the main webpage, by clicking the Return to A.S.K. for Thudium discussion group link.

4. Entering a prayer (Cont.) After licking the A.S.K for Thudium discussion group in the above step, you will now see your prayer request listed with the other prayer requests in the below webpage.

Updating a prayer request or adding the answer to the prayer

A prayer request is updated with new details about the original request or when the prayer request is answered. 1. If not logged in, then login, per the Sign in section, above, starting on page 3. Navigate to the below webpage. This may require clicking the A.S.K for Thudium discussion group link. Then click the link for the prayer that you wish to update. (In this example, Prayer 2 will be updated.

3. Updating a prayer (Cont.) Enter the update or prayer answer in the Message box. Then click the Post Message button.

4. Updating a prayer (Cont.) You will now see the update for your prayer request in the below webpage. In this example, the update is titled, Prayer 2 example only. Return to the main webpage, by clicking the A.S.K. for Thudium discussion group link.

Reading prayer requests


All prayer requests are shown on the forum webpage. Scroll up and down the forum, as needed, to locate the desired prayer request. 1. To read all of the replies (updates) to any particular prayer request, click the prayer request link. In this example, Prayer 2 will be updated.

2. Reading prayer requests (Cont.) Unfortunately, the forum does not show the replies of the selected prayer request until the Classic, List or Threaded links are clicked. (Some would call this a bug.) Click the Classic, List or Threaded link to display the prayer updates.

Editing or deleting a prayer request or update


Posted prayers or updates can be deleted or edited (modified). 1. Select a prayer request to read, as described in the Reading prayer requests section, starting on page 25. Click the More button for the prayer request (yellow Arrow) or the prayer update (grey arrow) that you wish to delete or edit.

2. Editing or deleting (Cont.) Click the Edit post (yellow arrow) or Delete this post (grey arrow) sub-menu option.
