KISAC Middle School Football Tournament Guidelines 2013-2014


1) Each team shall be 7 players (one designated goalkeeper) 2) Multiple subs can be named in a squad & rotated at any time during a game. 3) Girls and Boys games will be separate co-ed teams can play, but must be entered for the boys pitch. 4) Schools may enter up to 2 teams per pitch i.e., 2 boys & 2 girls. 5) Pitch size is approx. 40m x 25m and is Astroturf Half Pitch in length 6) Goal size is approx. 1.83m x 3.75m 7) Duration of games 15 mins each way 30 mins per game 8) Shin pads and appropriate footwear must be worn at all times. No long studs should be worn. 9) Goalkeepers cannot pick up a back pass. A direct free kick on the edge of the D will result if they do 10) Referees will penalize foul throws after a single reminder for each team in the first game 11) For all free kicks, opposing players must retreat 5m from the ball. 12) The game will start with a kick off which must be a pass forwards players cannot score directly. 13) Penalty kicks will be taken from a distance of 6m from the goal. The goalkeeper must remain on the line until the ball is kicked. 14) In initial league matches 3 points will be awarded for a win, 2 points for a score draw, 1 point for a score-less draw & 0 points for a loss. 15) Goals scored and goal difference will not determine a final group place to discourage one-sided matches. Result of a group game will be used and if this was a tie, the team scoring first in that match will decide a final place. If a score-less draw then a coin toss will be used 16) In the final play-off games, in the event of a tie, there will be a period of 5 mins golden goal to decide the winner. After that time a penalty shoot-out will decide with 3 nominated players initially, followed by sudden death involving the remaining players. 17) All referees are volunteers and staff members. Please support their decisions and ask your players (and parents) to refrain from questioning decisions and show appreciation for their efforts.

18) Referees have been instructed to request a player is substituted if they behave in a way that threatens the safety or enjoyment of the other players, or referee. Yellow and red cards will be used for deliberate fouls, or dangerous play in a game.

The Day
Games Until the final games (1st & 2nd play off's) all group matches and final seeding from 3rd to 8th position will be played at split gender venues. The boys at NLCS Jeju and the girls at BHA. Tuck Shop/stall There will be an opportunity to buy small snacks and there are various water machines around school and the Branksome Cafeteria Changing rooms We will allocate a changing room per school. These changing rooms can be locked, not that we have an issue with theft. There are also showering facilities available.
