The Arab-Israeli and the Palestine-Israeli issues have taken up a significant portion of the debate time, resources and resolutions at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). United Nations Security Council (UNSC) was established in 17 January 1946 and the main aim is to preserve or maintaining international peace (UN, 2013). Cueva, in his article The Arab-Israeli Case: National Interests and the Limits of UN Capabilities argued about the limitations of the United Nations capabilities in resolving the world conflict especially Arab-Israeli issues. His study revealed that the Members of the UNSC especially The Big Five, the permanent members that have the veto power or we can call the supreme power to control and restrict the decision made by the UNSC. In the end of his article, Cueva conclude that the United Nations Security Council are actually depending on the Members especially the five permanent members vote to make any decision. The UNSC had to protect the national interests of its members more than to do their responsibilities as what the slogan they used Maintaining World Peace and Security(UN, 2013). The United States (US) played the most important role in this matter in order to protect its national interest in Middle East and to maintain the Israeli support towards them. To the extent that this writing is exploratory, results of this article provide insights towards the Arab-Israeli issues and make the readers to critically analyze the functions of UNSC in resolving world conflict.
