Change of seasons around the Bottomless Lake A picture gallery

Selected photographs from the year 2012 by Tams Vsrhelyi, Department of Zoology

Mid-April
Fruit trees are in blossom, the horsechestnut leaves are still fresh, weak and beany, and the planted flowers are competing in beauty with the daisies and dandelions. The reed also show young shoots already.

May
Yet unseen flowers are waken by the bright sunshine, flocky duck nestlings follow their mother into the water, or take sunbath along the shore by the quickly growing reed shoots. Horse-chestnut barbs are still weak, mild. People also enjoy this beauty of the early summer.

Heart of summer, end of August

Trees grow mellow fruits already, and the reed has thick panicle, but a lot of herbs just turned into splendid flowering. While walking, we observe signs of cautious planning and care for the city park.

What is end of September like here?

Indian summer
Leaves turn into yellow and brown. Horsechestnut leaves with drying edges especially show signs of soon following the falling fruits. Other fruits yet hang still calmly, and some shrubs show their vivid beauty just right now. Chess-players seem not to be aware of the miracle of nature around them.
