Describe how you would design an experiment to investigate this hypothesis: ---Plants always grow in the direction of the light (Be sure to indicate the independent and dependent variable) First I would take 2 plants that are not havent grow yet, place one of them on a desk and have a window open in the right. And the other plant would be place in the other side, with the window in the left opened. I would water both of them similarly. I would be observing. After 2 weeks, I will compare the results; I would note the data and information collected from the experiment and check if the hypothesis is correct.

18. What should you do if the results of an experiment turn out differently from what you expected? I would use the scientific method and do the experiment again by changing things that should be changed to make the experiment more accurate and precise.

a) List the materials that Jeff would use to determine the volume of the irregularly shaped object.

A graduated cylinder A ruler A water bottle ?? A scale

b) Explain, in detail, how Jeff would figure out the irregularly shaped objects volume.

To figure out the irregularly shaped objects volume, the first thing Jeff would do is measure the length and width of the object with a ruler, then the weight with the scale provided, and finally pour the water from the water bottle in the graduated cylinder to a certain ML and then put the object into the graduated cylinder and observe how much the water increased, after seeing how much the water increased, now you can minus the answer with the initial amount of water in the graduated cylinder and then you will get the answer.
