Our Lords Table: Discerning the Body of Christ Invitation to the Table The Great Thanksgiving (text: RFN, 2013) One: (raising the Bread Plate) We bless you, God, Sovereign of the Universe, who brings forth bread from the earth to nourish and strengthen us. All: Amen. One: (raising the Flagon/Cup) We bless you, God, Sovereign of the Universe, who brings forth the fruit of the vine to fill our Cup of joy. All: Amen. One: Lift up your hearts. wAll: (standing) We lift our hearts to the Lord. One: Let us give thanks to God. wAll: It is right to give God our thanks and praise. One: It is truly right and good, to give you praise, our God, for out of cosmic dust and watery nebulae, in the light and heat of borning stars, you called forth order and substance. You called forth life to cover planets, and living creatures to move. And on this world came forth a people seeking to live in harmony and walk the paths of peace. wAll: Holy, Holy, Holy, God of earth and heaven! We are called to bring har mony from discord, peace from strife, justice from abuse, mercy from intolerance, and hope from despair. We thank you, God, for this calling. Blessed is each one who comes in the Lords Name. (sit) One: In every time you called forth prophets and apostles, to speak your message of hope and love; some were heard and some not. In the fullness of time, Jesus of Nazareth came forth to tell your story again and to renew your call to your people to live lives centered in passion, justice, mercy, and humility. All: We are called to live lives worthy of our high calling, to be worthy of the name Christian, to be priests and prophets in our day, binding up the broken-hearted, healing the wounds of injustice, and proclaiming your unbounded grace and love for all you have made.

One: As your Spirit nested upon the face of the deep in the day of creation, and fanned the flame of your word in your prophets, may she come anew upon us in our day, filling us, as we share from this Table, the Bread of Fellowship, the Wine of companionship, and the hospitality of Jesus the Christ. All: We are called to become the incarnate Bread of Covenant and Cup of Lifethe Body of Christin our generation. Fed by your hand and nourished at Christs Table, may we be energized with the Spirits passion to speak and act boldly, as we each add our Amen. One: Come, share, partake. There is enough and more. We join together in the Passover of Christ, embracing Life and letting what is broken and deadly in our lives pass us by. We have set the Table and prepared the Feast; therefore, we now keep this feast. All: Amen. In Christ, through Christ, united as one in the Holy Spirit, we give God glory and our praise, now and always. Amen. wSharing Loaf and Cup Today we serve by Intinction. Please come forward with your row, by the
center aisle to receive Bread. Then move to the Cup, dip your Bread in the Cup and reverently consume before returning to your seat by the side aisle. If you need gluten-free Bread, there is a separate container of Bread and a Cup on the Table. Please serve yourself, which keeps wheat contamination to a minimum. If you desire to receive at your seat, please signal the server who will bring a tray with Bread and Cup to you.
