9: Imagine a lawn on campus or in someones yard. Are there any examples of succession there now? If no one maintained it for five years, what might it look like? What would it look like after 10 years? 50? 100? Yes, there is an example of succession in that yard right now. If now one maintained it for five years, then it would only be soil with weeds. In ten years, longer lived plants might grow in that yard, and more insect will inhabits it. By fifty years into the future, that yard will probably be covered in grass and insects and maybe a few wild animals. When one hundred years comes, then the soil in the yard would probably be more rich in nutrients and the species of animals and plants would be more diverse
