Observing Dr. Brien was the first time I ever got to experience dentistry first-hand, and I was so excited. When I arrived, his receptionist was very welcoming and gave me a tour of his office before Dr. Brien arrived. His assistant was very knowledgeable and talked me through the procedures as they were going on. I got to watch a variety of procedures ranging from root canals, crowns, build-ups, and extractions. Shadowing Dr. Brien definitely reassured my decision in choosing to pursue dentistry.

Their reaction to their new smiles was definitely priceless. This made me realize that this would be the right profession for me. Upon my arrival, his staff immediately greeted me. After being introduced and chatting with Dr. Basco, I learned that he went to Jesuits rival school, Holy Cross, and he lived on the same side of the river as I did. During my time there, I got to watch a patient get a buildup and a crown. Dr. Basco explained things as he was going through the procedure, and I got to see how he carefully did the buildup in order for the crown to have something to hold onto. I was really excited to be there and loved observing him restore a tooth. long
