Cebu International School will be hosting a two-day workshop entitled

Teaching Through Inquiry


An inquiry-based workshop
with Tania Lattanzio
23-24 November 2013 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

About the Workshop


This workshop is aimed at assisting teachers in moving towards a more inquiry based classroom. The workshop will be facilitated through an inquiry methodology where practical inquiry strategies, that can be used in the classroom, will be modelled as a part of the workshop. Participants will be expected to be actively involved throughout the workshop collaborating and sharing their ideas with others.

About Tania Lattanzio

ania Lattanzio is an experienced international educator. Previously a teacher, coordinator, and manager with the International Baccalaureate, she is now the Regional Director of Innovative Global Education. In this role she has worked extensively in Asia Pacific and other parts of the world. This role involves developing and conducting professional development for teachers and leadership, developing and designing curriculum for schools, working intensively with teaching teams to improve planning, teaching and assessment and supporting school reform and significant shifts in pedagogy in both local and international settings. http://www.innovativeglobaled.org/who.html

Registration is limited to a maximum of 30 participants and will be reserved in the order in which they are received . Participants will be responsible for booking their own accommodation. How to get to CEBU, PHILIPPINES


Cebu has an international airport with regular direct flights from Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore, Manila, and Tokyo. Either arrange with the hotel your transport options from the airport prior to your arrival in Cebu, OR you can find the official yellow airport taxis on your exit from baggage claim. The yellow taxis are the official taxis and cost a little more than the others. To travel by taxi to Marco Polo, the cost should be no more than 400Php. The airport is approximately (depending on traffic) 3045 minutes from the hotels.

TRANSPORTATION TO and FROM hotel to Cebu International School


Please ensure that you allow enough time to get to CIS on Saturday morning before 7:45am for an 8:00 am start, probably 30 minutes.

a. White coloured public taxis are readily available to bring


you to and from CIS. Just remember to assert yourself and ask for the meter (flag down rate for white coloured public taxis are Php 40.00, then meter adds Php 3.50 per kilometer. )

b. If you are the adventurous type, try a jeepney (ride the


ones with the label that says Pit-os or look for the 62C label for about Php 12.00 and get a taste of the local transport network.
