Faysal Bank McLeod Road Branch Lahore.

3 hrs July 9 -Thursday-

On Thursday I join Faysal Bank McLeod Road branch Lahore. I talk to the
manager of the bank Mr. Kalim about my manger and submit my internship latter
issued by HR manager of Faysal bank. After inquire he allow me to start my
internship to his branch. He told me about some of the operation of the. After that
he told me about two type of mangers. First one is operation Manager
responsible for operation of the bank and second one is Branch manger
responsible for the marketing of bank.

8 hrs July 10 -Friday-

It was the day when I start taking part in the operation of the bank. That I was
placed with a senior employee Mr. Umer who have more knowledge t hen the
operation manger .He was a young man. He told me about clearing and
collection of cheques and how they are received and stamped .

8 hrs July 11 -Saturday-

That day I learn how to handle a customer which have all the knowledge about
the banking system. That I also learn about different langue’s use how to satisfy
the customer.
When I ask one of the senior employee about English wither it is important or not.
He answered me English is very much important but it depend the location. The
area where you are performing your job. I also learn how to make links with
other’s because these are very much important.
The customer’ s have to wait hours because where I am performing my
internship have no alternative of shortage of electricity.

9 hrs July 13 -Monday-

That day when I start my internship the light was off and customer have to wait
for one hour. After that my senior told me about the software’s which the bank is
using right now.
a) Orical.
b) Lotus.
When I ask one another senior employee Mr. Ali which he like he answer me that
he like the old version (orical) because he is expert of it.
After that he told me about NTN National Tax Number. Now NTN is must for
opening an account for every businessman. There is a secret statements called
Assessment and Verisys Statement which customer have no knowledge.
When any businessman want to open an account. The must required ducoments
are:
 a) Visiting Card
b) Letterhead
c) NTN
d) Copy of NIC

Deposit Slip is another very important part of bank. That day I also learn how to
fill it. DD Demand Draft is another name of Pay Order.
That day I did a mistake then my senior Mr. Ali told me about that and then told
how to cancel the stamp.
Ramzan is nearer so customers are withdrawing their amount from their account.
My senior told me there is three options if you do not want to deduct your
amount.
1) Cash
2) Pay Order
3) Zakat Declaration Form
Then in the end I learn how cheques are feed in the computer after clearing
which is called Jouting. It was a very long day for me I was very tired at the end
of the day. After clearing they sent it to NIFT (National Institution of Fund
Transfer/National Institution Facilitation Technology).

9 hrs July 14 -Tuesday-

That day I spend a lot of time with marketing employee of the bank. He told me a
lot of ways of marketing of bank. But there work is not doing marketing of the
bank. There work is promoting of the branch by bring people who want to open
account in their bank. One an very important account is Maven Saving Account
and Sahulat Current Account. The kind of this account is very famous among
businessman. It’s a type current account. Profit is charge on daily base. You can
withdraw your amount any time.
Again due to shortage of electricity customers have to wait for their work. No
back of electricity is damaging the goodwill of the branch as well as the bank very
badly.
When I ask about this problem. He said that he is also aware of this problem and
he also told to the management (main office) of the bank.

9 hrs July 15 -Wednesday-

That day I worked a lot with my seniors. My purpose of that day was discussion
on Islamic Banking in Pakistan with my senior Mr. Umer. He told me about
Islamic system. When I question him about the future of Islamic Banking .He told
me that there is no future of Islamic Banking in Pakistan. I also issue a cheque
book to a customer.
Now I tell you about Verisys. It is the site of NADRA. Which bank have its access.
In this site original ID cards are available to bank. Just enter the ID card number
of customer and verify the ID card of the customer.
That day one of Marketing person called PBO (Personal Banking Officer) which
are under RM (Regional Manger) or RO (Regional Officer) told me about the their
work. How much their work is difficult and the salary is not good. It is 10000 to

22000. For that purpose they have to achieve a target of 5million. Which is a big
amount. I ask him how they achieve it. He said yes it is difficult but if we do not
achieve it then for first three months bank gave us warning letter after that bank
fired us.
In the end of the working day I conduct the interview of my manger of the branch
Mr. Jamil. I feel he was little hastened to answer my questions. I ask him what he
think about English. Is it important or not? He said there is not much customer of
English. So Is not important. Important is that that your customer should be
satisfy. We need skilled person. He also said the English is very much important
in interview plus your confidence. We do not need employee’s which are over
confidante.

9 hrs July 16 -Thursday-

Another very long and hard day of my internship. That day I work with my
senior’s and practice same things which I have learn perilously. The important
thing for to day was that I conduct the interview of my branch manager Mr. Kalim.
I ask him what he think about MBA. He said after MBA if you got any kind of Job.
Just do it without thinking about salary because there is not much job’s available
in the market. When I ask him about loyalty. He answered loyalty is that where
you are doing your job do it with full devotion and when there is chance of getting
more salary in another organization you must avail that chance.

8 hrs July 17 -Friday-

Today was a free day for me I spent whole day with out much work. I just do
stamping and clearing. Today was the birthday of my branch manager Mr. Jamil.
He gave us a lunch. During lunch I ask him. Sir do you think personal jealousy is
important or not. He answered it must not be in an employee because every one
has a limited capacity of work. He gave me an example. He said I hard Amir
Sohail saying this “ when I see Saeed Anwer playing wonderful strokes I also
want to bat like him but when I start batting like him every time I lose my wicket.
