. Contractors Programme at Commencement . Programme Updating and Revision The Contractor should be required to revise the programme whenever (a) An e tension o! time !or completion o! the "or#s or an$ %ection o! the "or#s has been granted b$ the &ngineer (b) Progress is too slow to ensure completion b$ the due date (c) Progress on critical activities is !alling behind the latest programme (d) The latest programme is rendered unsuitable b$ unanticipated events . 'onitoring and Reporting Progress The actual progress should be mar#ed on the Contractors programme to monitor progress o! wor#. A monthl$ progress report will be made. A realistic estimate o! the completion date o! the Contract( based on actual progress and the e pected time to complete outstanding wor#s( should be made each month and noted on the report. The &R should alert the Pro)ect *!!ice i! at an$ stage( progress !alls signi!icantl$ behind programme and it is li#el$ that the "or#s ma$ not be completed b$ the due date . Action in case o! %low Progress As soon as it is apparent that it is too slow to ensure due completion( the &ngineer should in!orm the Contractor in writing. The Contractor should also be reminded o! his obligation under the +CC to in!orm the &ngineer o! actions he will ta#e to e pedite completion and to submit a revised programme. Care should be ta#en not to give instructions that ma$ be construed as an order to accelerate the wor#. Close monitoring should continue and !urther warning letters should be issued i! progress has not improved. The Contractors response and per!ormance subsequent to the issue o! warning letters should be noted in the ,uarterl$ Report on Contractors Per!ormance. -! slow progress continues despite repeated warnings !rom the &ngineer( the situation should be reported to the Client *!!ice !or appropriate action including suspending the Contractor !orm tendering initiall$ !or si months until progress has improved satis!actoril$. .urther action will be inviting outside Contractor to carr$ out the dela$ed wor# or e pelling the Contractor and re/entering the %ite. All losses resulting !rom such actions will be recovered !rom the Contractor. Regulating action will be applied to ever$ constituent part$ o! a 0oint 1enture
