    Oracle Database Install In this awesome tutorial I’ll be
    going through the install and setup
    of Oracle 11g for Hyperion.

    Page 1 Please ensure you have Microsoft


    loopback adapter installed before
    beginning the Oracle install.
    Instructions on the loopback
    adapter can be found on my blog
    http://atmyplace.co.uk .

    You’ll need to download 2 files


    from the e-delivery website, details
    of which can be found in my blog
    on this subject.

    1) Open the CD1 database folder


    and run the setup file.

    2) Select Oracle Database 11g.

    Page 4 Click Next

    3) Ensure that all the prerequisite


    checks have completed

    successfully

    Click Next

    4) Set a Global Database name


    such as Hyperion, HYPT etc..

    oracle.

    Click Next

    6) This section allows you to link


    your metalink account to this

    instance of Oracle.

    Click Next

    7) We are now ready for the install.


    Review the summary.

    8) Your database has now been


    created. Check the log files to

    ensure there were no errors or
    issues. Take note of your database
    name and SID as you will be
    needing these later for the
    Hyperion install.

    Click OK

    9) Your installation has now


    completed.

    You can test your install by going


    to:

    https://localhost:1158/em

    Log in with the username: system


    Password: oracle (or whatever
    password you setup earlier)

    The Database Control Home Page


    appears. Your installation was

    Client
    Client for Hyperion
    Oracle Client Install 1) From the Oracle 11h Client
    install folder run the setup file.

    2) Click Next

    3) Select Runtime client.

    Click Next

    4) Select your installation directory


    and software location path. In
    most cases this should be correct
    already is you installed the Oracle
    database to the default location.

    Click Next

    5) Ensure all the prerequisite


    checks complete successfully.

    Click Next

    6) Review the Summary and click


    Install.

    Your installation will begin.

    7) The Net Configuration dialogue


    box will appear towards the end of
    the installation.

    Click Next

    8) Click Finish.

    9) Congratulations you have now


    completed your Oracle install for
