Chapter 4 - The end of SUMMER
1. Read the chapter carefully and do the activities on page 26 of the book.

2. Match the adjectives on the right column with the characters on the left.

Chapter 5 - THE SCHOOLROOM
 1 ­ Look at the governess on page 33. Describe her and how she feels at that moment.
Now compare that picture to the one on page 9. Can you find any differences?
Yes? No? Mention them.
2- How many times has the governess met the ghosts? Mention them. Has she
changed her attitude to them?
3- This time the governess is not so enthusiastic about the idea of staying in that
house any longer. Her feelings have changed and she writes about them in her
diary.
