Licda. Celeste Lemus

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for foreign language teachers, addressed mainly to the trainee teacher, but also useful for experienced and professional teachers. It concentrates on examples of teaching and teaching practice rather than on a detailed analysis of learning theory. It aims to give a general picture with examples showing procedures for any level students. Besides, it provides with specific procedures reflecting a range of current teaching and learning styles. It provides with experimental work and tasks as its main components. The experimental work is composed by the tasks based on teaching/learning experience, which may be one or more of the following, lesson observation, classroom teaching, micro-teaching, peer teaching, and experiment. Most experiential work is followed by critical reflection, usually in the form of discussion and/or writing. The tasks are done by student-teachers in cooperative work or individually, with a trainer through discussion. These may involve such processes as critical analysis of teaching materials, comparison of different techniques, problem-solving or debate on controversial issues. Student-teachers are expected to ground solutions to the pedagogical issues they face in current practice in language education and pedagogy.

ACHIEVEMENT INDICATORS 1. Discusses important examples of experienced teachers. 2. Analyses and grounds with solutions of several issues and cases. 3.
