TELLERS COMMITTEE
The Tellers Committee shall be chaired by the President-Elect and shall consist of five persons: A Chairman, two members appointed by the Chairman, and two members elected by the membership at the Conference, and the following duties are assigned: 1. The committee shall insure that all votes cast are on the official ballot form only and shall disqualify all other forms, stating the reasons for their ineligibility. Tellers only will be allowed in the room where the ballots are to be counted. Blank ballots are ignored and not reported. If there are more ballots than voters, this fact must be reported and the assembly must re-ballot. If the votes are fewer, it is of no consequence. Chairman reads the report aloud to the membership, handing a copy and all ballots to the President. The President entertains a motion to accept the reported results of the Tellers Committee and destroy the ballots. Two tellers work together, one reads the ballot aloud and both record the votes on their respective sheets, placing the counted ballots in a secure area. After tallying their respective sheets, if the totals do not coincide, the tellers shall reverse the above procedure and do a recount. The tally sheets shall be turned over to the Tellers Committee Chairman at such time as verification of the balloting has been established.
