DIRECTORIES PHILIPPINES CORPORATION (DPC) and PHILIPPINE LONG DISTANCE TELEPHONE COMPANY (PLDT) TYPE OF PROJECT: PAINTING CONTEST CONTEST PERIOD: October 16, 2013 to March 13, 2014 SUBMISSION PERIOD: October 16, 2013 to February 7, 2014 COVERAGE: NATIONWIDE QUALIFICATIONS WHO ARE QUALIFIED TO JOIN: 4 to 24 year old Filipino students, currently enrolled in an accredited School/College/University in the Philippines WHO ARE DISQUALIFIED TO JOIN: Employees of DPC, PLDT, their consultants, advertising agencies, promotions agencies, government and private partners and sponsors, including their relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity and affinity are disqualified from joining the promotion SPECIFICATIONS THEME: (Scenes from) My Hometown Doon po sa amin. Didto sa amoa. Digto sa amon. Diay yan mi. Keta pung kekami. Duman po sa muya. Whatever the language, few phrases elicit as much feeling of warmth, nostalgia and pride of place. To tap into this rich reservoir of emotions and to reinforce the Filipino youth and seniors connection to their roots, the 2014-2015 GTEDPC/YP-PLDT Telephone Directory Cover 28th Visual Arts Competition (VAC) is adopting it as the contest theme. This would also ensure creative output with strong and diverse local flavor, befitting a truly national competition. In the 28th VAC theme, Lifestyle and Sports is to be interpreted in a broad context. The sectors is not restricted to provincial towns where one (or ones parents) grew up in; it can also refer to a city that one has learned to callor has always known to behome. What is important is for every photograph to capture the unique beauty, charm or character of that place and/or the people who inhabit it. Full color or black and white 8x 12 Portrait Orientation High Resolution, at least 10 megapixels

No computer manipulation or image alteration is allowed (such as Photoshop and similar software), however image adjustment (minor color correction, cropping) will be allowed No watermarks must be placed on the photo/s. Must be taken with a digital camera and in digital format Must represent local setting in the Philippines Must have been taken within two (2) years before the date of entry Must not have won in any previous photography contest Must not have been published previously in print or online Must not show the Philippine flag or Philippine currency Participant must attest that the photo/s is/are original work created solely by the participant, and he/she owns the right to the photo/s and does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the photograph. If the photograph/s contain any material or elements that are not owned by the participant and/or subject to the rights of third parties, such as, but not limited to any identifiable person/s, any artwork or copyrighted material, any private property or government property/office, the participant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the photo/s, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the exhibition and use of the photo/s in connection with this competition. If any person appearing in the photo/s is below 18 years of age, the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on each release/permit. THE ONLINE APPLICATION PACKET

SUBMISSION All entries must be submitted in digital format at www.visualarts.ph, together with a completely filledout and electronically signed online application form for the contest, (also found in www.visualarts.ph). In the application form, the participant should clearly indicate information about the photographer (full name, telephone number/s, email address, residential address, date of birth, school and location/ address, course, year to graduate) and information about the entry (title, date of shoot, location of shoot, camera brand/model used, description of the photo and/or how it relates to the theme). Submission of entries will begin on October 16, 2013 until February 7, 2014 at 11:59pm. Any entry submitted after the deadline will not qualify for the contest. An interested participant may submit up to three (3) entries. MODE OF SUBMISSION: All entries must be uploaded to www.visualarts.ph DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES: Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:59pm All winners (Top 50 Finalists, Peoples Choice for Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, Top 4 Major Winners including: Grand Prize Winner, Second Prize Winner, Third Prize Winner, Fourth Prize Winner, Fifth Prize Winner) permit the free use of his/her name and/or photograph, as well as the name of his/her school, in any publicity, broadcast, telecast, or online account in relation to this competition. All winners agree to transfer ownership of their winning entry to DPC who may use the photograph for any purpose it may see fit, such as, but not limited to the covers of the DPC-PLDT telephone directories, exhibits, publicity and other advertising and merchandising materials.

AGREEMENTS

Non-compliance to the above specifications and rules and regulations stipulated will automatically disqualify the participant. By submitting an entry/s, each participant agrees to the official rules and regulations and warrants compliance with all the requirements set forth. PROPOSED DATE: February 12, 2014 Entries that do not comply with the requirements are automatically removed from the selection Judges appoint a chairperson among themselves and agree on procedure of selection. Depending on the number of entries, there may be 2 teams judging to split the entries and eliminate before selecting the top 50. Judges agree on the top 50 entries. Elimination Round/Top 50 Finalists: February 12, 2014 CRITERIA Visual Composition 25% Adherence to Theme 25% Suitability as Cover 35% Over-All Impact 15% 100% The top 50 entries with the highest number of points/ scores from the judges will become the finalists. In case of tied points/scores, the judges will eliminate based on the criteria until only 50 finalists are left. Decisions of the judges are final and binding. 50 Finalists [entries] will be advised on February 13, 2014 via SMS and email and will be required to submit the following requirements: o Via email (Optional; To be submitted only if there is a possibility that mail or personal submission is delayed) Hi-res file of the entry Proof of enrollment [Photocopy of a valid School ID or Certificate of Registration] Scanned copies of release form/s, if needed o Via mail / Personal Submission (Must be submitted) Properly labeled CD/DVD containing the high resolution (at least 10 megapixels) file of the entry Original hard copy of the online application signed by the finalist and countersigned by the Dean of the College Photocopy of a valid School ID or Certificate of Registration Original signed release form/s and/or permit/s, if needed Failure to submit any of the requirements above will disqualify the participant from receiving his/her prize as top 50 and from moving to the next judging rounds. The finalists who comply with the requirements are qualified to compete for the Peoples Choice Awards and the Major Individual Awards. Deadline for submission of requirements is on February 20, 2014. All finalists who have complied with the requirements will be invited to the Awarding Day on March 13, 2014 at the Ayala Museum in Makati City, to witness the announcement of winners and receive their prize/s. vote online, by region, for their most preferred photograph considering the following criteria: Visual Composition Adherence to Theme Over-All Impact Site visitors may vote more than once during the online voting period, but they can only vote once per day, per entry. There will be one (1) winner per region, i.e. Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, for a total of three (3) winners. The most number of votes garnered through online voting per region of origin wins the Peoples Choice. The votes will be collated and tabulated on March 8, 2014 and, in case of tied votes, an extra day of online voting will be allotted on March 10, 2014 to break the tie. In case of another tie, the judges in the final round of judging on March 11, 2014 will select the winner to break the tie. Decisions of the judges are final and binding. Final collation and tabulation of the three (3) winners for Peoples Choice will be conducted on March 11, 2013. FINAL JUDGING VENUE: Ayala Museum, Makati City DATE: March 11, 2014 [Tuesday] Judging will be done in the presence of an independent auditor Final Round/Major Winners: March 11, 2014 o The finalists who have compiled with the finalist requirements are also qualified to compete for the final round to determine the top five major winners. o Criteria 90% JUDGES Visual Composition 25% Adherence to Theme 25% Suitability as Cover 35% Over-All Impact 15% 10% ONLINE o The final scores will be 90% of the judges scores (based on the above criteria) and 10% online voting scores. The top four (4) entries with the highest number of points/ scores will become the major winners. In case of tied points/ scores, the judges will decide the ranking based on the criteria to break the tie. Decisions of the judges are final and binding. o All winners who have complied with the finalist requirements may claim their prize on Awarding Day on March 13, 2014.
