If a school district or a principal were to give teachers the option of what technology would be used in the classroom, it is interesting to imagine how classrooms would be. Each teacher would choose different devices creating unique environments for all students. Teachers having a say in their classroom technological resources allows for the teacher to have greater control over the content. If they are familiar with, and know how to properly use, equipment they are more likely to integrate useful programs and functions of computers for their lessons. Teachers would be even more excited about the content if they knew they could use a certain devices to further entice the students learning. Since teachers are the ones that have to work to get their students to a certain level, being able to select technology that best suits the needs of their children benefits everyone. The standard technology that comes in an elementary classroom might not be most beneficial for a special needs classroom or a class full of ESL students. Learners and teachers vary drastically, and so should the resources they use. Above all, it is crucial that the teachers know how to use the equipment that is available to them. By not properly utilizing the tools available to them, teachers are doing themselves and their students a disservice. If teachers are not included in the decision making process school

districts can end up spending money on equipment that is not functional or will not be utilized. That is a waste of money for the district and harms the students when they could be benefiting exponentially from a better product.
