Narrated Presentation

Giving students a slide-based presentation with only text or graphics is a problem because the slides, even with the text and graphics on them, really do not stand-alone. Its hard to add enough context without adding tons of text to explain whats on each slide. And, these presentation programs are not really the right media for tons of text. If you want students to do a lot of reading, you need to provide them with printed materials. The purpose for using a program like PowerPoint or Keynote in a presentation is to support you and your message. In an online presentation, you are still the presenter and you should be there. Narration lets you connect with students and set the context for the presentation. Also, narration in this situation is more than just reading each slide in the presentation.
