The Gateways to Opportunity Registry is a resource and tool for early care and education, school-age, and youth development practitioners and programs. Foundations of Family Child Care- learn about licensing, setting up as a business, parent communication, health and safety, nutrition, discipline, and developmental activities. This workshop is interesting to me because it teaches a person about starting up a child care facility and many other foundations on getting things started in a facility. 4. Infant Toddler Credential Content Areas this certificate program looks good to me because someone who is looking to work with toddlers might see whether or not they are competent enough to work with toddlers. 5. I think that the Illinois Director Credential is a great thing to have because it not only proves that the Director of a day care is able to manage the program but it can also help the day care with many different types of community resources. I would definitely consider obtaining the credential. 6. One of the financial opportunities I found was the Great START Wage Supplement Program, although I am not eligible for this financial opportunity it might be useful for someone else 7. A Professional Development Advisor is an experienced profession within the child care profession that can guide you towards your path to working with children. 8. Early Childhood Special Education Description: Early childhood special education services are provided in the range of settings listed under Child Care Center and Family Child Care above. Illinois provides pre-kindergarten programs for At Risk children and families as well as pre-kindergarten programs funded by Preschool for All that serve families with children who do not have disabilities. In all states, educating 3- to 5-year-old children with disabilities is the responsibility of the state education agency and the local schools. At the infant toddler level, the lead agency for early intervention is selected by the governor. In Illinois, the lead agency for the infant toddler program is the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) Bureau of Child Care and Development, with participation from other state agencies, including the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
