Family Communication:
ECED 429
Daily Behavior Report Log: The Rick Morris Classroom management plan organizes the behavior of the classroom. Students have different levels of behavior that are assigned to a specific color. All students begin their day on green, ready to learn, and can improve or bump down levels throughout the day. Students folders will contain a monthly sheet that addresses daily behavior. The sheet is a behavior log that is filled out at the end of each day as students are packing up. The daily behavior log addresses the color of behavioral status that the student had at the end of the school day. It allows parents to see the outcome of daily behavior, and also a way of daily communication. Any comments of daily incidents or success are mentioned. Parents are to review all contents in the students folder, look over completed homework, and initial the behavior log to show that they have viewed the folder. Monthly Newsletter: A monthly class newsletter will be sent home in students folders to parents. The newsletter is a way to communicate with parents and let them know what is going on at school and in the classroom. Items discussed in the newsletters are: important dates, monthly learning and activities, notes, reminders, tips, spelling words, and other informative details regarding students education. Parent Communication Log: Communication logs will be kept for all parent-teacher communication. The log provides contact information for each student, and provides documentation for all discussions with parents or family members. The log gives a time and date of contact, form of communication, reasoning or topics discussed, and notes on the overall conversation.
