I will pass out slips of paper for them to write page numbers to read for homework. 5. They will then put their books in their book bag as I call for them to. 6. References: Lynn Patterson SC Journeys- Houghton Mifflin Harcourt-Unit 3 Activity Analysis: 1. Reading How Leopard Got His Spots a. This activity supports the objective because it is the story that we will discuss. Most students will be able to read fluently but all will have to read it. 2. Four-square Writing a. This activity supports the standard because it is where the students will write their explanatory text. All of my students can write in a four-square. Some students can finish quicker than others but they all will finish. Technology: Technology will not be used in this lesson because everything we need will be in the classroom. The students have their reading books in their desk and I will distribute the paper they need to complete the four-square on. Instructional Strategy Analysis: Whole Group Discussion o This supports my lesson objective because it allows for all the students to be engaged and answering questions about the story. o This stems from student needs because some students will not answer questions if I ask one person directly, they participate more if it is a group discussion.

o The students need their brains, a pencil, and a four-square to complete the four-square writing section.
