Our Mission

The mission of the Clarion University Small Business Development Center is to grow the economy of western Pennsylvania by providing entrepreneurs with the education, information and tools necessary to build successful businesses.

 Small Business Development Centers work to support economic development by providing entrepreneurs and small business owners with hands on consultation, comprehensive education and the tools necessary to help their business start, grow, and prosper. Eighteen small business development service centers are located near every major university or college in Pennsylvania.

 The Clarion SBDC is responsible for a 10 county region of Pennsylvania. This includes Armstrong county, Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Elk, Forest, Jefferson, McKean, Potter, and Venango.

History The Clarion University SBDC was founded in 1980

Since its foundation the Clarion University SBDC has consulted with thousands of pre venture and existing business clients.

The Clarion University SBDC helped us put together a strong business plan that eventually was the key to funding our business. Alan Pettenati Trisonics, Inc.

Trisonics inc. is an ultrasound diagnostic equipment sales and services company. It opened January 2004 with total sales of $850,000, and in 2009 sales grew to $3,500,000. Trisonics inc. is now ranked with some of the nations fastest growing private companies.
