1. Explain and justify the need for a solution for a specified client/end user.
Thechallengethathasbeensetistomakeanadvertisementthatpresentsamemberof theISDcommunitysothattheirnotablequalitiescanbebetterknown.Thiswillbeachievedby researchingandpresentingtheirinterests,background,skillsandcharacteristics.Thereason whywearedoingthisissothecommunitycanlearnmoreaboutsignificantpeopleamongst themselvesandhowpeoplearehelpingmakethecommunityabetterplace. Ihavechosentoadvertiseaclassmate,Chrysante,becauseofherexperienceinthe schoolcommunity,andmostlyherinvolvement.Shehasattendedthisschoolfor11yearsand fewpeopleknowthisplacebetterthanher.Fromher11yearsatthisschool,shehasdone almostalloftheAfterSchoolActivitiesandknowstheprogramandschoolstructurethoroughly. Now,sheisstillinvolvedinavarietyofextracurricularactivitiessuchas:volleyball,piano, InternationalHonorSocietyandmore.Sheshowcasesabalancedlifestyle,alongwiththeother IBlearnerprofiles. Mytargetaudiencewillbethe10thgradersatISDbecausethatiswheretheimpactwill bethegreatestandthisadvertisementwillbethemosteffective.Mypeersandteachersalikewill benefitfromknowingthereissucharounded,kindandinterestingstudentintheirschool. Raisingawarenessforkeyfiguresinthecommunitywillcauseeveryonetoappreciateeach otherandencourageeveryonetointeractwitheachothermore. Lastly,myresponsetothechallengewillsolvetheneedforareliable,trustworthy,and informedstudenttobeknownthroughoutthewholegrade.Newstudentsin10thgradecan approachChrysantewiththeirquestionsandinquiriesabouttheschoolorhowtogetinvolvedin activities.Manynewstudentsthatcomethroughouttheyearcandependonhertogivethemthe bestadviceregardingISDandhowtogetinvolvedinsports,musicorschoolclubs.Similarly, adultscanapproachherwithmoreopportunitiesforhertotakeon.

2. Identify and prioritise the research needed to develop a solution to the problem
Iplantoresearchavarietyofthingstoensurethatmyadvertisementreachesitsfull potential.IwanttogettoknowthepersonthatIamcreatingmyadfor.Inthiscase,Iamalready veryinformedaboutChrysante.However,therearemanythingsthatarerelevanttothetopicof herhelpingtheschoolcommunitythatImaynotknowyet.Ineedtocreateaquestionnaireto interviewChrysantewithsoIcanusethoseresponsesinthevideo.Iwanttogetherfeedback ontheschoolcommunitycurrentlyandwhatshecandotoimproveit. Moreover,Iwanttolearnmoreaboutmytargetgroup.Inthiscase,theenduserisISD 10thgrade.Tobetterunderstandthisgroup,Iwillconductamasssurveyandsendittopeople sotheycanrespondeasily.Thesurveywillincludequestionsabouthowlongpeoplehavebeen atISD,whattheythinkshouldbeimprovedaboutthestudentbody,howtheywishtoseea studenttakeactionfortheseproblems,andsoon. Anothermainpointofresearchwillbegettingtoknowhowadvertisingtakefulladvantage

oftheirresourcestocreateashort,buteffectiveTVad.Iplantoresearchhowmarketersfitallof thedesiredinformationintolessthanaminutesotheviewerdoesnotloseinterest.Todothis,I willuseonlinesearchingfortipsonhowtostructuretheadandwhattofilm.Furthermore,Iwill lookatsomeofthemostsuccessfulTVadsthathavebeendoneandnoteifIseeany similaritiesoraspectsIshouldtakeintoaccount. NotonlydoIneedgoodstrategiesandenrichinginformationaboutthistopic,Iwillneedto learnasetoftoolsandtechnicalskillstoexecutethefinalproduct.Forexample,Iwillresearch intotheoptimalcameratorecordwithanditsfeatures.Iwillalsofindoutwhatthemostfitting editingprogramisforthisproject.Finally,Iwillneedtodecideonaplatformtoposttheadonso thatitismostaccessibleandeffective(e.g.YouTube,Vimeo,etc.) Hereisalistofmainpointsthatneedtoberesearchedintermsofimportance/preference: 1. IcreatedtwosurveystolearnaboutChrysante,whoIammakingtheadvertisementforandsent themtograde10.Fromthesetwosurveys,Ilearnedalotaboutwhatmyadshouldtrytocover andhowIshouldcreateitsothatitisbettersuitedtothetargetgroupsinterests.Basedonthe majorityofresponsesinthefirstsurvey,Icanconcludethatmyadvertshouldbe: Upbeat/cheerfulbecause58%ofpeoplechosethis.Thisshowsmethatourgradelevel generallyprefersadvertisementsthatleavethemwithapositivemessageorimpression,rather thananegativeone. Under1minute/12atmost,assupportedbyanequalamountofpeople(47%+47%).Thisis agoodtargetlengthbecauseitkeepstheadvertisementshortandconciseandtothepoint.This isaveryrealisticportrayalofhowlongsuccessfuladvertisementsare.Peopledontliketospend timeonthesebecausetheycanloseinterest.
