Victoria McDonald TWS-6-2 Below Average (Student 11): My below average student is very evident from the results

in the chart. This student is an African American male student. It is extremely important to understand the learning process of this student before, during, and after assessments. This particular student has an extremely difficult home life and with the lacking of that support it was extremely hard ensure that this student was receiving the necessary support outside of school. This particular student would often daze off during lessons and one-on-one conferences. When working in-group work, this particular student would wait for others to lead the way and do the work for him. Throughout the unit I continued to reach out and attempt new and various assessments to grasp this students attention. Although this student struggled with almost all assessments, he was always kind and never seemed to be upset about the outcomes. Lesson four was a great improvement from other areas and he expressed that he enjoyed that lesson because we were discussing major cities and his family lives in one of the major cities. Average (Student 18): The average student in the class works really hard and has amazing family support. This student is a white male with lots of energy. At the beginning of the year this student was a definite average student and as year has progressed it seems that he has began to not focus as much. Many factors have played into his achievement throughout the semester. This student showed small increments of progress with several objectives. Above Average (Student 16): This particular student is extremely quiet. He is a white male student. Throughout the unit this student showed great gains in regard to the six-landform regions and their characteristics. Although objectives were more of a challenge for him, he continued to strive forward. This student showed some general knowledge of all

Victoria McDonald TWS-6-2 objectives before the lessons and this helped tremendously with his success during this unit as well as others.
