REPORT ON THE BEARING INSPECTION OF UNIT-1 OF 2X30 MWUMIAM STAGE IV HYDRO POWER STATION

The Thrust Block of the unit has been removed and found that the insulation plate has deteriorated and sign of burning observed. These need to be replaced but not readily available and has to be ordered from Kolkata.

The thrust runner also indicates some sort of overheating and some burr is observed. The burr needs to be polished and accordingly instructed.

In the meantime the spare shoes brought from Umiam III Power Station, Kyrdemkulai are being clean, tested, polished and blue match. The condition of the pads a not very good but useable since no more spare are available.

After the blue matching the following works need to be carried out in this month. 20th&21 22nd 23rd Fitting of Insulation (Texolite) sheet Heating of Thrust block (slowly) Assembly of the thrust block to the shaft. Centring of Unit 24th 25th , 26th and 27th 28th 29th 30th Shaft runout Bearing clearance setting including boxing up after complete. Total shutdown of the station to facilitate boxing up of Draft tube cone Final boxing up of the unit Bearing heat run Unit synchronisation .
